The above billboard goes live June 1 on the north side of the Broadway Bridge. You’ll see it as you’re heading west out of downtown towards the Redlands, and it couldn’t be more timely in light of Trump’s conviction yesterday on 34 criminal counts of business document fraud.
Since it’s a vinyl billboard and not a digital one, it will be visible 100% of the time and will even be lit up at night.
Yesterday Trump became the first former U.S. president in history to become a convicted felon.
Trump was convicted for falsifying documents in an attempt to cover up a $130,000 hush money payment he made to porn star Stormy Daniels in the run-up to the 2016 general election. Trump had a sexual encounter with Daniels at a resort in Lake Tahoe in 2006, just four months after Trump’s wife, Melania had given birth to their son Barron. In New York, the crime of falsifying business records requires not only that an incorrect entry be made on a company document but also requires the intent to mislead in order to reap a reward. The reward Trump sought was keeping information about his sexual encounter with Daniels from the public so he could win the 2016 election. Trump was worried that if voters found out he had an affair while his wife was home recovering from childbirth, it would alienate female voters, especially in swing states.
The first month of the billboard was paid for by a single generous individual who came up with both the idea and the funds, and it will be around for two additional months thanks to crowdfunding by a lot of enthusiastic area residents and donations from former area residents who now live elsewhere in the state.
Here is a Saturday Night Live skit from 6 years ago that is amazingly relevant now in light of these events:
Thank you for putting up this billboard. Made my day! I will donate hoping it helps to display it all summer. I am disapointed that the Republican party couldn’t come up with a better candidate. “The Art of the Deal” written over 30 years ago reveals the lack of character, morals, and values held by this psychopathic narcisist.
It is awesome. And so many people will see it.
Thank you to all responsible!
So all of this is about pointing to Trump’s moral turpitude, not criminal acts. Thanks for clarifying.
This has been the case since 2016 during which time you democrats have been engaged in one long primal scream. Your obsession with bringing him and his supporters to heel has become a joke.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is very real.
And all of your obsessive pearl clutching only serves to point to your own hypocrisy.
badhatharry, you failed to read the blog.
Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business documents with the intent of tampering with the outcome of the 2016 election: “In New York, the crime of falsifying business records requires not only that an incorrect entry be made on a company document but also requires the intent to mislead in order to reap a reward. The reward Trump sought was keeping information about his sexual encounter with Daniels from the public so he could win the 2016 election. Trump was worried that if voters found out he had an affair while his wife was home recovering from childbirth, it would alienate female voters, especially in swing states.” So it is both an issue of Trump having bad character and of his violating the law.
Badcrapharry doesn’t read, let alone think critically…he’s only here for an opp to scream more cultish brain-rot rhetoric and push desperate Biden whataboutsm to “own the libs”. Besides, the only Trump Derangement Syndrome that’s actually been diagnosed beyond the psychotic Faux News echo chamber are his legal strategy of dilatory and desperate antagonizing of the judiciary.
Long-term GOP’er here. Concerned by MAGA’s echoing the words of Hitler, targeting of minorities, not to mention bedroom snooping. So I’m voting Dem after all these years. Jail time? He’s had decades to clean up his act. Maybe he’ll think twice before committing crimes again (and again).
To heel? No.
To Justice, yes.
See the difference? I doubt it.
Personal accountability and values are a large part of what makes America great; there can be no religious or political redemption w/o sincere remorse and a change in behavior. A leader can speak her/his mind and still be decent, achieve great things wi/in the law, love country, and family by supporting equality and justice. This billboard is Trump’s scarlet letter, his deserved public shaming.
Can’t shame a Sociopath.
Who owns the Billboard?
