Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters unrepentant, tells crowd “They cannot stop me”

Tina Peters speaks to a far right wing crowd on the same day she was charged with crimes by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.

On the same day the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office booked County Clerk Tina Peters on charges of obstructing a police officer and obstructing government operations, she was a guest speaker at an “Emergency Town Hall” held by the far right wing group “Faith, Education and Commerce United “(FEC United) in Castle Rock, Colorado where she got a standing ovation with rousing applause.

Group wants to hang politicians

FEC United was founded by Colorado conservative activist Joe Oltmann, who in December, 2021 called for the mass execution of Governor Polis and other politicians he considers “traitors” to the country, including the 19 U.S. Senate Republicans who voted with Democrats for an 11-week stopgap spending bill to keep the government open:

“I want people to go out there and get some wood,” Oltmann said. “The gallows are getting wider and longer. We should be able to build gallows all the way from Washington, D.C., to California.”

Peters is under investigation by a grand jury for charges that she illegally tampered with voting equipment. She is also the target of a lawsuit by the Secretary of State seeking to block her from running elections for the duration of her term, and is also facing another lawsuit brought against her by her ex-husband, Thomas Peters, who is alleging Tina deceptively initiated a quit-claim deed to transfer ownership of his house to herself. Peters also has two ethics complaints filed against her with the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission (IEC), that the Commission deemed serious enough to act upon.

Despite this, Peters bragged to the crowd that she was wearing the same clothes she wore to her booking photo and that she smiled for her mug shot because she wasn’t ashamed, because she didn’t do anything wrong. Peters then added,

“I won’t back down. I won’t give up. They cannot stop me. The only way they can stop me is, you know…I’m a person of faith.”

  1. I agree. She needed to be treated as if she were a black dude wearing a hoodie. There she is presenting herself as a fashion statement. Castle Rock? Oh no I hope my son wasn’t there!

  2. Who is “Tammy Bailey”, the supposed owner of the iPad in question? I had imaginary friends when I was a child too, but they never let me play with their cool electronics. Seriously, is there a Tammy Bailey?

    • I was wondering the exact same thing. And I’ve dug for it online. DEEP. I have yet to find any info on this “Tammy Bailey”.

  3. “I’m going to throw tantrums, kick cops, send sensitive election materials to Mr. Pillow, steal from my ex, defy rules that nobody else sees a reason to, because ….God wants me to”?
More like: unless I can drum up a bunch of drama, my live would be boring and insignificant. And that applies to the rest of the sorry bunch, too.
