  1. Grand Valley citizen

I went down to Lincoln Park a bit after 11:00 a.m., and it took me a while both to find a parking space and to find the event: there was a well-attended track meet also going on. I dropped off a bag of canned goods, and the *huge* truck collecting those was already about 1/4 filled! I encountered many people that I didn’t know and was able to strike up friendly conversations with all of them. Just a fine, feel-good outing that will benefit some of our neighbors in need.

Badhairharry is a self- promoting fool that imagines he is “impressing ” other readers w his boring/numbing pseudo analysis of both history and current events.
    Give it a break.
I do wonder how he would do in a bread line?

    1. If you want to kill the troll, stop feeding it. BHH seems to have nothing but time and opinions, and belief in the myth that if you work hard and play by the rules, you’ll retire with time and money enough to troll local blogs. Stop acknowledging her dumb@$$ and in 18 months, that troll will wither.

      1. PS.
I am the only person in this comment section who provokes any response. The rest of you are boring and very predictable and you never talk to each other.

You’re sure to miss me when I’m gone.

        1. No, we won’t.
Just ask everyone else who’s left you after getting fed up with your BS.
Unless, of course, the no contact restraining order prevents that.

            1. It’s almost sad, to see that this is validation for you; that negative attention is the only kind you can get, so anyone responding to your BS is actually making you feel better about yourself.

              It’s almost sad.

            2. There is no conceivable reality or parallel universe where I would have reason to be jealous of you. Honestly.

Got a great job (workin’ from home for some very cool people in assistive technology), got a cozy little house on a sizeable piece of ground that borders the river, and, best of all, still married to the best girlfriend I’ve ever had (think Kathleen Turner in Romancing the Stone), who gives me all the attention I could ever want, along with attitude. 🙂

Aside from my spouse, my life’s not all that impressive to an outside observer; but if you could somehow sense how happy I am, you’d rage-cry yourself to sleep every night.

I don’t even have to exaggerate.

      2. It’s so weird to see someone so mad about what I write and I am under no illusion that I could ever impress you.

I just happen to care enough about this stuff to comment on it, especially when I think certian people are being misconstrued

It doesn’t take any time from other things I like to do. It’s an interesting past time and just so you know…you’re not compelled to read what I write.

  3. To be clear…50501 and Indivisible are both well funded political organizations. I have an interest in how they operate. That they had to fall back and make their anti-facist march into a food drive is interesting to me. I’m thinking they missed their participation goals.
I have done some research and found that their followers are getting a little discouraged and unsure about what the message is.

As I said, I thought it was early for them to get started with their outrage campaign because that’s hard to sustain. People often are interested in escalation in order to pump up the volume…for instance, vandalizing TESLA cars and dealerships.

Other than that, people are free to do what they want and people are free to hate Trump and Elon. Just don’t forget your sunscreen!

And John, you might want to stop trying to be “clever”, because you most assuredly are not.

  4. So clever for 50501 to team up with the food bank!
Should we bring food or “Elon is a Nazi” signs?
    This could be confusing.

And lo and behold…we are expected to show up at a May 1 rally, as well. 50501 has a lot of confidence in it’s influence.

It looks to be a very busy summer coming up.

      1. It’s a food drive, you lackwit.
No one’s expecting you to help, or be there, or even care.

        Why would they?

        1. Au contraire, little man.
Is it your memory or your reading skills that need a tune up?

On Anne Landman’s blog, not long ago, the headline was “The Next Mass Protest Against Trump/Musk Authoritarianism is Sat. April 19.” (brought to you by 50501).

Still trying to figure out how this morphed into a food drive. A couple of thoughts occur…People aren’t as enthusiastic as they want about giving up their weekends, standing around for hours with signs so they fell back into making it a food drive.

That way they can set up an informational table and get unsuspecting people to attend and convince them that the world is coming to an end. Or maybe it will be a combo food drive/ anti-facism protest.

Whatever it is, these people have a lot of ideas (see May 1) and obviously a lot of money.

Maybe they should hand out sun screen with their logo on it for their “summer of love” events.

          Just sayin’

          🙂

          1. Unlike you, Cletus…I don’t care how people get fed, as long as they’re getting fed. This is a good thing, and you wanna get butt-hurt about it, and make it part of some vast left-wing conspriacy.

Money is not everyone’s primary motivator.

          2. What, no invitation to Mar-a-Lago this Easter? Can’t take solace that others will be without food? Cheer up and put your creative hat on. Tell us about your summer of love sex fantasies.

          3. I think I have a solution, Harry; just go online and donate directly to the Community Food Bank, or the Food Bank of the Rockies (we’ve been donating to the latter for more a year now), and you can help those in need without being so scared.
