Trump said he wouldn’t rule out the use of military force to seize Greenland from Denmark and seize the Panama Canal from Panama. He also says he wants to erase Canada’s borders and make Canada America’s 51st state
In an hour long news conference on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, convicted felon, sexual abuser and president-elect Trump insisted Denmark should “give up” Greenland to the United States and refused to rule out use of military force to seize the island. Trump also repeated his desire that the U.S. should seize the Panama Canal from Panama. The canal, which was built by the U.S. over a century ago and returned to Panama by the Panama Canal treaty, signed by President Jimmy Carter in 1977. Trump also suggested using “economic force” instead of military force to make Canada into America’s 51st state. Trump has threatened Canada with a 25% tariff on all Canadian goods coming into the U.S., and told reporters that if Canada voluntarily merges with the U.S., there “would be no tariffs.” Trump mused, “Canada and the United States. That would really be something.”
Trump also said he wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.”
Trump told lie after lie at the news conference. Here are just a few:
— He claimed that he won the 2024 election “in a landslide.” In reality, there was no landslide. Trump’s popular vote margin was one of the smallest in the last century at just 1.5 percentage points. (Trump got 49.8% of the popular vote, Harris 48.3%).
— He also lied by wrongly claiming the Panama Canal is “run by China.” It’s not. It’s run by the Panama Canal Authority, part of the Panamanian government.
— He said windmills are causing a large number of whale deaths. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says “there are no known links between whale deaths and offshore wind activities.”
— He lied when he said Ashli Babbitt “was the only one that was killed” during the January 6 insurrection. At least seven people lost their lives in connection with his supporters’ attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, and 174 police officers were injured. Damage caused by attackers cost taxpayers over $2.7 million. Trump has called the January 6, 2021 insurrection a “day of love” and promised that after he takes office, we will pardon those who participated in the attack, including those who assaulted the police.
Trump’s speeches have repeatedly raised questions about his mental acuity. In speeches and at press conferences, he jumps incoherently from one topic to the next. He goes off on tangents, rarely discussing the needs and difficulties average Americans face in daily life. He seems increasingly unhinged, makes ludicrous claims, tells lie after lie and mixes up and mispronounces words. Beyond this, many public figures, media sources and mental health professionals have speculated that Trump may have mental health impairments ranging from narcissistic personality disorder to dementia, which runs in his family.
Trump has so far refused to release his medical records. At 78 years old, he will be the oldest president elect in the nation’s history.

He is technically Not a convicted felon (yet) and they are suing any reports, blogs, written statements saying he is. He may be in the future, but you should protect yourself here and retract that before they come for you. R. VINCE
He actually is a convicted felon; if he manages to get it overturned, that’s a different matter. But he’s a convicted felon UNTIL something changes.
Legally NOT until sentencing, which is the basis of his suits, and hence my warning. I forget who else got stung on this, but I think you might get in trouble for it.
Show the statute and or/case law that says he is not really a “convicted felon” until he’s sentenced.
Legally, he is a convicted felon. You can’t just make up “facts” and expect people to be gullible enough to believe them. That works when people like Trump talk to people like you.

Trump is definitely a convicted felon, even prior to sentencing. A person is convicted of crimes when the jury returns a guilty verdict, not at their sentencing hearing.
That is absolutely ridiculous. If he’s not a convicted felon until he’s sentenced, then why is he being sentenced? Your assertion doesn’t even pass 3rd-grade logic.
I dont live in the US, I live in France and am French (though my wife has family in the US, and we visit here for Christmas and New Years time). I read Anne’s blog to get a sense of what is going on in America (because news in europe is very censored, only the state narrative as determined by Brussels sensors is permitted). No one’s asking you to leave; I just pointed out that your description of Trump as “not yet a convicted felon” was wrong. He is a convicted felon (34 times, even), and even though he’ll never see any jail time, that is a fact.
The idea that he would/could sue anyone for telling the truth is not plausible.

He could try to order the attack on Greenland to “take” it. The military would not follow that order as it is an illegal order. Unless Congress passes a full-blown declaration of war, invading a docile and innocent country administered by another NATO country would force Europe to go to war with the United States. WHY the hell would the US want to “take back” the Panama canal. It was started in 1904!!!!! The last 2 years the Panama Canal Authority has spent huge amounts just to keep the water in the locks. Panama is in one of the worst droughts ever. The PCA usually spends $400 Million each year just to maintain the old girl. It is not deep enough nor wide for many modern ships and tankers. It will cost a fortune to get it upgraded to a modern version. Taxpayers will foot the WHOLE bill as Trump will NEVER beg for money from users, and will not receive any if Trump successfully attacks Greenland and takes the Panama Canal.
