House Rep. Jeff Hurd plans to hold a telephone town hall meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
To participate, people must call his office at (719) 696-6968 and give them your name and phone number before 4:00 p.m. TODAY, Friday, March 7. They will then call you at the appointed meeting time and give you a code to use to ask the Congressman a question.
Ok. It would be great to stand up at a live town hall. We are all becoming depressed about what is happening right now with Trump and Musk, and Colorado needs to stand up. Of course there are inefficient people working in government, but more oversight needs to be taken. Effective services are being cut and more monitoring needs to be done.
The cuts to our National Parks is a number one shame in our area. The parks here in Colorado make money, not only for the parks but for all the other tourist businesses. Who is being hired in Colorado to help in our parks? Fire mitigation, etc.. We need to keep our public lands as a wonderful resource! Thanks for supporting the fix our forest bill.
Next, the cutting of funds and surveillance for Ukraine is a travesty. We need to stand up and with our allies and show Colorado’s support for our allies and NATO. Thanks for supporting this stance.
What the heck is going on with the tariffs! The stock market is tanking. Our prices are rising!
Securing the border was a bill under Biden, but Republicans killed it. I wouldn’t brag much about this aspect now.

There must be some real confusion here, the GOP only works for Trump/Musk and the Dems work for AIPAC, the Pentagon and many more mega corporations. Did you think they cared about what you think? You lost influence a long awhile ago, before all the noise and distraction of social media and with a lot of help from Faux News.
The Dems are on a permanent recess while the GOP is torching what’s left of the rule of law!
Dear Mr. Hurd: you ran on PROTECTING natural resources, transportation and infrastructure, science, space and technology, and you now sit on committees for natural resources, Indian insular affairs, the subcommittee to energy and mineral resources, and transportation and infrastructure. Being a young man with 5 children gives me pause to how much time you actually have to protect your district. Although Musk having 14 children hasn’t stopped him from dismantling America’s govt. You are also a very junior house congressman with no government experience and I’m very concerned you will be bullyed or bought into issues your conscience and morals will know are drastically wrong. The 4 fed offices either closed or slated to close will impact your community. I imagine Pueblo will also be impacted. If you knew you only had 2 years as a congressman, wouldn’t you want to do something really productive for your own community? Your predecessor became a screaming unintelligent shrew and continues in another district. Please consider doing something different so you can sleep at night and your children can say, yah dad did everything possible to not sell off America. I live for the next 7 generations and djt/musk are going to crush it.
I am appalled at your lack of judgement! You are not listening to your constituents. You took an oath, do your job and protect our constitution … our DEMOCRACY!! It’s disgraceful that you are not protecting Federal workers, Social Security (which we all paid into and have a right to receive), and Medicare/Medicaid (which in Montezuma County 45% of people rely on).
But what is most frightening – standing by while Trump to alienates our allies. Our National Security is at stake –
Grow a pair … and stand up for America .. not the domestic threat called Donald Trump.
Both the house and senate need to buck up and do their job, take control of what the constitution says they should control and don’t let their power be stripped away by crazed “TrumpElon.” This isn’t a fairy tale, it’s real life. We need to save our democracy and end the authoritarianism.

Jeff, you are in a tough spot but you need to act with courage and integrity. People’s lives e balance. Oppose dangerous cuts to the FAA. Protect our schools, national parks, healthcare and social security. This is your job!
Colorado deserves better from all their representation…I just can’t wrap my head around grown ass men and women being too scared to have a conversation and let people know in a transparent way what’s going on in their state…good, bad, or indifferent the people who elected these people, regardless of what side of the isle they are on, deserve transparency and honesty ALWAYS…Benefield 2026
I’m not sure why I’m getting a call at 6:30pm on the day of the event, if pre-registration is required. I agree with many of the comments provided by your constituents, have a real town hall and show up. I have never felt more unsafe in this country than I do now. I fear for the future of my children and my grandchildren. This is not why you were elected. What happened to the heart of beautiful America?
It is cowardly to “post” notice of a supposed “town hall”, but only give a few hours to sign up. I live in his district and he never notified me. I know a person who is on Jeff’s e-mail list and he didn’t even get notice. So. Who was this posted for? Just his few friendly democratic big donors?
I call foul. Have a town hall (don’t be a coward; have it in person!) and post it to all constituents in your district well in advance. You represent ALL of us who live here Jeff. DON’T BRUSH US OFF!!

Right at the time I host the Jam session at the VFW. I wanted to ask him about the Soros rumor he posted for the Town Hall before and what he was going to do about our National Parks for the Summer?
This may be a prerecorded event, similar to what Rep Jeff Crank held in the Springs area last night. Questions were cut off very early into the conversation, at least for many participants. A viewer there recorded the call, then submitted the recording to KKTV 11.
What a little milquetoast.
Mike Coffman and Cory Gardner used to do that up in Aurora, when it had been years between a townhall. So we all started pushing back, especially when they both came out for ending the Affordable Care Act and other healthcare. They both would do a townhall that you had to be vetted for first and register for, and anyone with a complaint, or facts they did not like, or who was in the “opposing party,” got dropped and didn’t get to participate in the townhall, you could only be a listener. So if you listened to the livestream, it was just a bunch of fake news, fake people, planted people, supporters. Just a worthless, cowardly approach that shows you they know they are supporting acts, people and policies that are hurting us, almost all of us but the mega-rich, and they don’t care but they do want to hide it.
