If your 80 year old uncle posted a disgusting, hate-filled message like this on social media in the pre-dawn hours of a somber holiday that commemorates America’s war dead, you’d probably hold a family intervention to decide how to handle his obvious lack of emotional control and mental decline.
But this was posted by the President of the United States, and people are pretending it’s not behavior worthy of the 25th Amendment.
It is NOT acceptable for an elected U.S. President of the United States to write something like this.
It is tantrum behavior to call judges who don’t rule your way “scum” and “monsters,” say they “want our country to go to hell” and “suffer from an ideology that is sick.” It is
wholly inappropriate and utterly disrespectful for any elected president to say people with different political view points from his own have “warped radical left minds.” And it is wildly inaccurate and an outright lie to claim 21 million people entered the country illegally under the last administration.
In addition to how wildly untethered from reality it is, Trump’s post was criticized for making zero mention of fallen soldiers and it is widely considered inappropriate and insensitive to wish people a “happy Memorial Day.”
It’s not a holiday. It’s a remembrance. For families who have lost a loved one at war, it is one of the most difficult days of the year, after the anniversary of their loved ones’ death. It’s simply not a “happy” day.
The emotional dysregulation Trump put on full display for all to see in this post indicates he is extremely dangerous and mentally unfit to be president. He is already starting to act on his explosive feelings, for example, by using his elected position to attack prestigious universities like Harvard and Columbia, to verbally attack and threaten judges who rule against him and through his utter refusal to acknowledge that as president he is duty-bound by his Oath of Office to follow the Constitution and obey court orders.
Children eventually outgrow temper tantrums.
Trump very clearly hasn’t, and that is a huge, flashing red warning light to the country about what is to yet to come.
Just a few things:
The link you posted purporting to show Trump’s citation of 21 million people entering illegally is inaccurate…doesn’t do that. It’s a letter from ICE to an obscure Texas congressman and doesn’t give any real numbers of that nature.
From dealing with some people who post here I’ve learned some Biden fans don’t even believe we’ve had millions entering illegally…talk about irreconcilable differences!
There is probably and unfortunately no way to find exact numbers, but a lot of people use ten million .
Further…the 25th ammendment is to be initiated by the vice president with the president’s cabinet. By the looks if it, this is not at all likely.
I am sorry we’ve come to this. We are in an outrage loop, with both sides upping the ante every day. It’s so bad that Anne didn’t even mention that Trump is a convicted felon and sex offender.
I wonder of it’s even in the realm of possibility to have a happy ending.
“The link you posted purporting to show Trump’s citation of 21 million people entering illegally is inaccurate…doesn’t do that. It’s a letter from ICE to an obscure Texas congressman and doesn’t give any real numbers of that nature.”
Her link is to demonstrate that Trump’s claim is inaccurate.
“From dealing with some people who post here I’ve learned some Biden fans don’t even believe we’ve had millions entering illegally…talk about irreconcilable differences! There is probably and unfortunately no way to find exact numbers, but a lot of people use ten million.”
A lot of people use 10-15 million undocumented immigrants in the country in total. Most of which did not cross the border illegally, but overstayed their legal visas/etc. The actual number that have snuck across the border is much lower.
But her link didn’t show that…as I said.
You are incorrect. The total number of “illegals” in this country is much higher. I recall hearing ten million before Biden arrived on the scene. It’s been a while but I can probably find it.
Since you seem to know…how many people snuck across the border during Biden’s reign?
Her link was to show that Trump’s claim of 21 million was wrong. That’s all.
I don’t know how many crossed illegally. What I have heard is MAGAts citing the number of undocumented immigrants as the number that entered illegally, as if that was the only way they could have gotten here. What I have never heard is a shred of evidence for the claim that Biden let 10 million in.
PS
“Check Your Fact added the total number of nationwide encounters representing FY 2021 to FY 2024 to date and arrived at 10,680,891.”
Of course there are lots of different sources and the issue becomes more complicated because these numbers reflect “encounters” Gotaways is another thing all together. As I said, we may never know but it’s not “much lower”
I also ran across a couple of articles that estimated the number of illegal immigrants living in the US prior to Biden is 10-12 million.
That matches what I have seen.
None of which is evidence for the claim.
I guess you didn’t read my “check your fact” stats.
Never mind. It doesn’t matter.
I did. It just doesn’t mean what you think it does. But you won’t consider that possibility so here we are in the same place as usual.
The same place…you telling me I’ve been lied to but never revealing the truth and how you arrived at it, except to wave at overstayed visas.
This sums up the great divide.
You just found the same numbers I’ve been using. They just don’t support your claims. You wouldn’t accept any numbers I gave you because I gave them to you. But you’re pretty good at proving yourself wrong. I just need to give you that little push to find the answers for yourself, because that’s the only way you will accept them.
The numbers I cited reflected the number of illegal crossings during the Biden administration. I also gave numbers that estimate how many illegals were in the country before Biden…all those overstayed visas.
🙂
It’s very impressive the way you think you’re fooling me…
It’s also instructive.
Only if you assume that “encounters” equate to illegal crossings.
Hint: They don’t. And that’s the mistake you’ve been making all along. Keep digging! You’re so close!
I guess you think that there are millions of people who have tried more than once.
No way to tell, but I’ll bet it’s pretty negligible. And maybe you could crediblyimagine that gotaways make up for that.
And then you say this:
MAGAts citing the number of undocumented immigrants as the number that entered illegally, as if that was the only way they could have gotten here. What I have never heard is a shred of evidence for the claim.”
Here you are saying that the number of illegals isn’t correct because illegals can get here some other way, which in your mind negates what the maggots have said.
Complete nonsense.
No, it’s not. You just don’t understand, but then you have a vested interest in not understanding, so you won’t. Have a nice day, harry. You got so close. Maybe next tiume you’ll get all the way there.
This sounds like a scientology recruiter pitch.
“Just stick around and after giving us years of your life, you’ll finally know what we know.”
I think Charles Manson used that line, too.
I’m pretty sure that this is the first time anyone has called me scum publicly…
Well, Biden called the other side “garbage”…which inspired Trump to drive a garbage truck.
I’m always looking for first causes. My mind goes back to Obama, who pointed to people who cling to their bibles and guns. Then there was Hilary’s basket of deplorables.
And there was Rush Limbaugh who made a career out of mocking Democrats and we should never forget about Bush’s lies about weapons of mass destruction.
Now we have myriad stations and podcasters blathering on about politics and protesters taking to the streets claiming that Trump is a Nazi. Everyone wants to identify the real culprit. It’s a giant school yard brawl.
What is the end game and who will win and will we be able to live with the result?
It is good not to hate a monster. But it is necessary to contain a monster.
Even coming from this psuedo-“bone spur” draft-dodger, this marks a new low. And on Memorial Day especially, when most of us pause to remember and give thanks for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect us and our country . . .
I fear that much worse might lie ahead . . .
It is good not to hate monsters, but it is essential to contain them.
