Alex Kelloff is running to replace Jeff Hurd in the November 3, 2026 election for Colorado’s U.S. House District 3.
Kelloff issued a press release (pdf) on April 30 announcing his candidacy.
He is described as an “old Snowmass” resident, a fourth generation Coloradan and a co-founder of Armada Skis. He writes on Facebook “Our Colorado Third deserves better than the empty promises we’ve gotten out of Jeff Hurd.”
Kelloff has a candidate website, a Facebook page and an Instagram account.
He will be at the headquarters of Mesa County Democrats, 310 N. 7th St., Unit 2, from 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon on Saturday, June 7 if you want to meet him and get to know him.
Right now, with the increasingly fringy, vengeful, thoughtlessly cruel and cult-like behavior coming out of members of the Republican Party, Dems are the only sane way to go to save, defend and protect American democracy.
I’d vote for ANY Democrat over a Republican, given the current Republican platform:
– “We are all going to die”
– Tax cuts for the wealthy
– Deporting your neighbors
– Screwing over small businesses with tariffs
– Pardoning criminals and white nationalists
– Bringing back diseases like it’s 1825
– Making imperialism great again
– AI will police your lives
– Anything for the King, but you get only 2 dolls
– “We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.”
Literally, a Biden corpse would be better than this. This is the condensed list.

This guy is in a tough position
He can’t really speak to Democrat hobby horses like their contempt for ICE and being all in with open borders…”who’s gonna clean the toilets?”
He can’t appeal to these things because all the racists in Grand Junction might get wind of it and get off their couches to vote against him. He needs to keep a low profile. I’d say Jeff Hurd lite, except Jeff Hurd is already Jeff Hurd lite.
It’ll be interesting to see if he gets asked about real important stuff on on June 7…like “how do you feel about sanctuary cities?”

You are all used to this by now…it’s going to come down to the numbers. I wonder if you have them.
I visited his website and might have been listening to Hurd’s…same old and tired campaign rhetoric. He believes in working families, yadda, yadda. He’s spent the majority of his life becoming very wealthy, but he understands the plight of the poor and wants to save social security and medicare.
So…”not a republican” is his only real distinction.
Adam Frisch had a ten million dollar fundraising advantage over Hurd and still lost (twice, not sure how much he raised to lose to Lauren)
Maybe the dems around here need to look further than Aspen to find a candidate who can beat those evil republicans.
