Hurd/Epstein banner posted above I-70

Banner seen above I-70 at 24 Road

The above banner was photographed above I-70 at 24 Road on July 27. The following message of explanation about the banner was sent to KWSI Radio in Grand Junction:

Jeff Hurd voted against releasing the Epstein files – a decision that keeps the public in the dark about who was connected to one of history’s most notorious abusers. By voting no, Hurd chose secrecy over transparency, shielding information that could help bring accountability and justice. The public deserves to know more about who and what is in these files. We demand more from our elected representative.

Jeffrey Epstein was a notorious, wealthy American financier and convicted sex offender who was accused of sex trafficking girls. In 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida state court to one count of soliciting prostitution and one count of soliciting prostitution from a minor. As part of a plea deal, he was sentenced to 18 months in jail and registered as a sex offender. He served 13 months of the sentence and was released in 2009, according to AP News.  In 2019, Epstein was re-arrested on federal charges of sex trafficking minors and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking. He pleaded not guilty to these charges, and died in jail in August, 2019 while

awaiting trial. His death was ruled a suicide by hanging.

Jeffrey Epstein claimed in taped interviews that are now in possession of the U.S. House of Representatives that he was Donald Trump’s best friend for ten years.  In the tapes, Epstein also alleged that Trump was a serial cheat in his marriages and loved to “f— the wives of his best friends.” He also claimed that while Trump has friends, “he was at heart a friendless man incapable of kindness.” Epstein also alleged that Trump had undergone scalp reduction surgery for baldness and called himself “The Trumpster.” The recordings also reveals that Epstein’s leaked address books had Trump’s own phone number as well as Trump’f wife, Melania’s, and that Trump’s name appeared seven times in the passenger logs of Epstein’s planes.
The files about Epstein’s legal case are now in the hands of the U.S. Department of Justice. Trump had promised the public he would release the Epstein files, but is now refusing to release them.
On July 15, 211 Republicans, including western Colorado’s CD-3 Rep. Jeff Hurd, voted against releasing the Epstein files, to help hide the affairs of a convicted serial child molester who was Trump’s best friend for a decade.

The whole Epstein case is so disturbing and repulsive. Trump is trying his best to blow it off like it’s nothing, making sure to pin it on Obama and Biden, but those sweetheart deals to protect those involved were done under Bush and Trump. So disgusting!

  2. It seems that voting not to release the files will only make the average American think there must be something Republicans need to hide. It’s hard to think of why else they would vote not to release the info.

  3. Jeff Hurd is such a well trained little Republican’t puppy. He votes how the party tells him to vote and VERY RARELY as he promised when he was running for the seat. Jeffy, why are you so afraid of your constituents? Is it because of your obvious lack of a backbone or testicular fortitude and your propensity to follow party lines, no matter what the people who sent you to Washington want you to do. Do you really plan to be reelected after all the lying and misdirection you’ve done? Silly Boy.

  4. The GOP supports and protects pedophiles, including the President, who has had absolutely no problem openly sexualizing girls (including his own daughters); not “young women”…girls.
    Children.
This is documented, and beyond contestation.

  5. All of the convicted felon’s enablers, accessories, and boot-lickers are poised, like highly trained dogs, waiting for the next command from their Fuhrer, whether it be standing and slapping out the salute, or voting to eliminate food supplements, health insurance, accountability of masked thugs…whatever is needed. Whatever the Leader needs to divert attention to his most threatening moral turpitude exposure yet. Representative Hurd, how do you justify your votes to your pastor, your children, your parents on Social Security and Medicare, and to all the females in your life?

  6. What vote is this referring to? I do not see any vote in the House on July 15 or in the days proceeding that had anything to do with this or where 211 Republicans voted no.

    1. The vote was on a procedural maneuver known as a “motion to table” or a “motion for the previous question.” Democrats tried to use this procedural vote to force a vote on an amendment, introduced by Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA), which would have required the release of Epstein-related materials. The Republican vote against the motion blocked this from happening. The vote was 211-210, along party lines. Read about it in this article by The Hill:
