The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Indivisible Grand Junction will team up to host a CD-3 Rep. Jeff Hurd (R) lobby visit this Friday, August 8 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Rep. Hurd’s Grand Junction office at 743 Horizon Ct., Suite 112. The event description says,
“Jeff Hurd’s track record isn’t looking good: After endorsing the Big Ugly Bill that will strip Coloradans of their healthcare and provide tax breaks for billionaires paid for CO workers, he voted NO to release the Epstein files and is currently enjoying an extended summer break provided by Speaker Johnson to protect child sexual predators.
Join the ACLU and Indivisible Grand Junction as we visit Jeff Hurd’s office to remind him who he works for: US.
Hurd has the opportunity to stop 3 of the 6 ICE detention camps proposed in Colorado: -2 in Walsenburg -1 in La Junta
Come out to let him know how YOU have been affected by the budget he greenlit, and that he has the chance to change his trajectory by stopping the creation of brutal ICE camps.”

RSVP for the lobby day event here, bring a friend and come prepared to tell your story about how the Big Ugly Bill will affect you, your family and your community. If you need help formulating a statement, the ACLU is here to help by providing a public with a virtual storytelling workshop on Thursday. Here’s the info on that:
The ACLU is hosting a virtual storytelling workshop TOMORROW to help you shape your personal story into a powerful statement for Friday and beyond.
