After only 34 days, a team of 120 volunteers succeeded in gathering enough valid signatures to get a measure on the November 4, 2025 ballot to recall Montrose County Commissioner Scott Mijares.
On August 18, the volunteers submitted a total of 5,428 signatures to Montrose County Clerk and Recorder Tressa Guynes to recall Montrose County Commissioner Scott Mijares. At least 4,540 valid signatures were needed. The final count was 4,942 valid signatures — more than enough to get the recall on the ballot.
The Recall Scott Mijares Committee posted the following on their website today:
The Recall Scott Mijares Committee is pleased to announce that at 10:12 am this morning, August 21, 2025, we received the following information from our Designated Election Official:
“Pursuant to C.R.S.1-12-108(8), after review of the 181 Sections submitted, please consider this official notice from the DEO that the number of signatures validated is at least 4,540.
