Federal officials lying non-stop about Renee Good’s murder

Federal officials and and government agencies have been lying nonstop trying to blame Renee Good, a 37 year old Minneapolis mother, for her own murder at the hands of an ICE agent.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called the incident an act of “domestic terrorism” and is trying to convince Americans that federal agent Jonathan Ross, who killed Good, was engaging in self-defense prior to shooting her. Assistant Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin posted a January 7 tweet saying Good was a “violent rioter” who “weaponized her vehicle” in an “attempt to kill law enforcement officers.” Vice President JD Vance called Good “a deranged leftist” who “was trying to ram this guy with her car.” He portrayed the incident as “an attack on the American people” and said, referring to Good, that “that woman was part of a broader left wing network to attack, to dox, to assault and to make it impossible for our ICE officers to do their job.” Trump himself claimed falsely that Good had run over one of the officers.

None of that is true.

Good’s ex-husband told the Associated Press that she was never an activist and he had not known her to participate in protests of any kind.

There is lots of video evidence of this incident and by now most Americans can easily access the many videos of it showing exactly what happened, from a number of different angles before, during and after the incident. The entirety of America can easily see that none of what Trump administration officials are saying about this incident is true.  Good’s car was stopped in the street and she was directing other cars to go around her vehicle. She wasn’t fully blocking the street and cars were able to go around her vehicle. Good leaned out of her car window, smiling, and spoke to Ross as he walked by her vehicle moments before he shot her in the face, saying “Dude, I’m not mad at you.” Her front wheels were

turned to the right, away from officers approaching the left side of her car.  Her car moved slowly, she wasn’t gunning the accelerator.  She had a glove box full of stuffed animals and her dog in the car. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said the federal government’s self-defense narrative is “bullshit.” (video)

What “domestic terrorist” heads out to use a car to kill someone with their dog in the car?

What appropriately-trained law enforcement officer, fearing for his life, continues to hold a cellphone in one hand, recording, while pulling out a gun to shoot someone with his other hand?  And if this officer was appropriately trained, why didn’t he first try to de-escalate the incident as Department of Justice use-of-force training requires, before pulling out his weapon and shooting someone in cold blood?

By the way, for those who are curious, word is that the dog lived through the incident and was okay. People Magazine reports that Renee’s wife, Becca Good, asked for help to retrieve the dog from the car after the shooting and was seen sitting on the steps to a house with it after the ICE agent killed Renee.

Americans can see for themselves exactly what happened, and can see for themselves the extent to which Trump’s federal government officials are openly lying about it, and continuing to double down on those lies.

  1. And, in his regular hypocritical way, Trump threatens Iran for not protecting their demonstrators, while encouraging violence against ours.

  2. So so soooo upsetting! Not only to witness a murder but the LIES!!! And from our own government which continues to lose trust EBERY day!

  3. No amount of reality can permeate the FOX GOP Cult! He WILL think of an emergency measure to stop the mid-terms so don’t find reassurance there. He would be trying to bring up his poll numbers if he thought he needed to, but no problem for the Monarchy.
