Re-appointment of Daniels to the Board of Public Health is now off the Commissioners’ agenda. Commissioners seek public comment on his re-appointment.

Stephen D. Daniels issued a flat-out, blanket lie about all Democrats in a recent post on his social media

Another UPDATE: as of 4/13/26 at 11:00 a.m.: The Mesa County Commissioners have completely removed the automatic re-appointment of Stephen D. Daniels to a second term on the Mesa County Board of Public Health from the agenda for their Tuesday, 4/14/26 public meeting, and they have no plan to put it back on in the future, according to BOCC Administrative Assistant Amy Russell. According to Russell, this means the Commissioners now intend to review whether or not to re-appoint Stephen Daniels to the Board of Public Health. This  means his re-appointment will not be discussed in public, but the public can still weigh in on it, and the Commissioners seek public input on it. Given this change, the best way to weigh in on the possible re-appointment of Daniels to the Board of Public Health now is by emailing the commissioners. Their email addresses and phone numbers are at the bottom of this blog, or you can email all three commissioners at once by going to MesaCounty.us, then clicking on “Departments & Services.” Scroll down to “Board of County Commissioners,” then scroll down to “Connect with Us.” At to top of the Connect With Us list is “Submit a comment.” Complete the web form to submit your comment and click “Submit.”

The Commissioners ask that public comments be submitted before noon tomorrow, Tuesday, 4/14/26.
