Liz Oyer is a former pardon attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, and the first former federal public defender to hold the position. She was was abruptly fired in March 2025 without cause, notice, or the due-process protections guaranteed by federal law. The official who signed Ms. Oyer’s termination lacked the authority to do so. Ms. Oyer challenged the legality of her dismissal, and instead of defending the legality of her firing, the government has been finding ways to delay accountability for the action.
In the mean time, Ms. Oyer has been paying close attention to the huge number of egregious and corrupt pardons of convicted criminals that felon Trump has been issuing, and the negative effects they have had on the victims of these crimes, and reporting on them to the American people.
This time Ms. Oyer sounds the alarm over Trump’s own catastrophically corrupt self-dealing in federal government.
The one-page “Release of Claims” document that Ms. Oyer discusses in this video can be seen here.
