In July, 2025, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on the existence of a lewd letter included in serial pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s birthday book with what appeared to be the signature of convicted felon/sexual abuser/President Trump. Epstein’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, compiled the leather-bound book for Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003. Maxwell is currently serving a 20 year prison sentence for conspiring with Epstein to sexually abuse minors. The book contains messages from friends of Epstein that are lewd or referred to Epstein’s pedophilic conduct. The full book can be viewed at this link (pdf).
After the WSJ published the article about Trump’s birthday letter, Trump denied the letter existed, railed against the story as “FAKE” and sued the paper for $10 billion in damages.
In late August, 2025 the Republican-led House Oversight Committee subpoenaed the birthday book from the attorneys handling Epstein’s estate. The attorneys released the book to the Oversight Committee shortly after, in early September, 2025.
The letter the WSJ described in its article appeared in the book exactly as it was described. (See it above and in the bound book at pdf page 165).
After that, Trump changed his story.
He stopped denying the letter existed and instead started denying it was his signature on the page, claiming it was a forgery.
Below are multiple samples of how Trump has signed his first name on different documents over the years:
Brad Edwards, the attorney for scores of survivors of Epstein’s abuse, said Trump’s “hypocrisy has been most frustrating for the victims.”
Edwards told ABC News, “[Trump] told the public the Epstein story should ‘go away,’ yet filed a $10 billion lawsuit that only magnifies the very issue he wants silenced.” After the alleged letter from Trump was released by the House Oversight Committee, Edwards said, “With today’s release, the least he could do is withdraw that lawsuit and publicly apologize to the journalists he attacked for reporting what seems to have now proved to be true.”
So far Trump has not withdrawn the lawsuit.
Trump is no stranger to women alleging that he sexually abused them
A jury found Trump liable in May, 2023 for sexually abusing and defaming a woman in 1996. The jury ordered Trump to pay his victim, columnist E. Jean Carroll, $5 million. Trump appealed the verdict and in June, 2025, the 2nd U.S. Court of Appeals rejected his appeal.
By 2020, at least 18 women had credibly accused Trump of various types of sexual misconduct, ranging from groping to rape.
