The name of Grand Junction’s Cesar Chavez celebration has been changed to the Sí Se Puede Celebration

After the New York Times published an article on March 18 about how civil rights icon Cesar Chávez had groomed and sexually abused girls in the movement, events across the country celebrating farm workers were either called off or organizers scrambled to change the names of their events. Grand Junction’s event has been renamed the Si Se Puede Celebration. It will be combined with the third No Kings Day protest on March 28. The No Kings protest starts at 11:00 a.m. on 3/28/26 at the Butterfly Pond at Las Colonias Park by the Colorado River.
