Trump’s latest dismissive statements about Americans’ difficulties in the current economy

In the video above, posted by the Associated Press on May 12, Trump says he does not consider Americans’ financial situation at all, “not even a little bit” while negotiating a deal to end his war with Iran.

When asked about Americans struggling the price of food going up, Trump doesn’t address the question, responding only by saying 85% of Americans “understand” that “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.”

In a major blow to Republicans, in the second video taken at a cabinet meeting on May 27, 2026, Trump says he doesn’t care about the mid-term elections:

In the last videos below, Trump dismisses this problem of current high gas prices nationwide  — the highest since 2022 — as “peanuts,” saying he was in Iowa and gas was $1.85/gallon there.

Either he is completelwy unaware of the actual prices of gas in Iowa, or that was a lie. According to the American Automobile Association, the average price of gas in Iowa as of May 28, 2026 was $4.077/gallon:

“This is peanuts…I appreciate everybody putting up with it for a little while…We have to take a little journey down to…” [Iran].

Here in Grand Junction, regular gas is averaging around $4.68 per gallon, roughly $1.50 more per gallon than this same time last year. Diesel is running about $1.00/gallon higher than regular gas.

  1. Of course he doesn’t care. Tr*mp has more than doubled his net worth since taking office. Not to mention billions more for Don Jr & Eric.
