Need an abortion in Grand Junction? Here is information.

If you are pregnant and looking for an abortion in Mesa County, you may find information about abortion services is very hard to find here. Local obstetrical practices don’t mention abortion on their websites and may not even offer abortion services. “Pregnancy Centers” are fake health clinics in the area that lure in scared and worried women by promising free services, like pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and “counseling,” but they are really Christian ministries whose real purpose is to shame and guilt women out of getting abortions.

The closest provider of safe medical abortions is 90 miles away in Glenwood Springs, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. Their slogan is “Care no matter what.”

But don’t despair. You may not have to leave town to obtain a safe abortion.

Thanks to the internet, there are now options for women to access abortion services no matter where they are, and you may even not have to leave home to get an abortion if you live in Grand Junction.

UPDATE: On December 16, 2021, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) permanently lifted restrictions on access to abortion medications by mail, making them more widely and easily available for use by women who are up to 10 weeks pregnant. The move allows women to obtain the pills by mail instead of having to appear in person at a clinic.

Planned Parenthood is now offering telehealth abortion services in Colorado. Their website, “Telabortion.org” explains what it is:

“A TelAbortion involves all the same steps and procedures as an in-person medical abortion, but you do not have to travel to an abortion clinic. Instead, an abortion provider conducts a video evaluation over the internet. All the necessary tests are done at medical facilities close to your home. The abortion pills are then sent to you by mail.”

To qualify for a telabortion, you need access to a computer with a camera and microphone, and you must be able to take the first abortion pill no more than 10 weeks, or 70 days, into your pregnancy. Here is a link to the requirements for TelAbortion.

TelAbortion is safe, effective, private and convenient. It is done in your own home and is a great option if it is hard for you to take time off work or travel long distances to a clinic. For more information, go to Telabortion.org.

There are also other options:

Abortions are available at the Women’s Health Center in Denver. Here is a list of procedures they offer, and prices for each. They provide financial help to pay for abortions if you are a private pay patient and not using any health insurance to pay for the procedure.

Medication and surgical abortions can also be obtained at Mile High Women’s Clinic in Denver. They offer some financial assistance, too.

MyChoix.com offers medication abortions by mail to people over 18 years of age in Colorado. Their highest cost is $289, and the price can be reduced $50 if you agree to share your experience with researchers at the University of California San Francisco.

A group called AidAccess.org also makes telehealth abortion services available to women all over the world. AidAccess.org is headed by a woman physician in Austria, Rebecca Gomperts, MD, MPP, PhD. AidAccess considers abortion a human right and its mission is making abortion services available to women internationally who have obstacles to accessing safe abortion services. Like Planned Parenthood, AidAccess.org does a medical consultation over the internet. They then send a prescription for the abortion pills to your local pharmacy have a help desk and doctor available to answer any questions you may have before, during and after the abortion process. Their website asks a donation of about U.S. $90 for their services, but says they won’t turn people away for inability to pay.

  1. Now that we have had some time be thankful, let’s analyze the situation. The Dems sure are pissed, but WHY are the Dems so angry about this ruling? Well many reasons, but its mostly about MONEY.

With the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, many States immediately cancelled all scheduled abortions, and shut down all Planned Parenthoods across the state. This will continue across every red state. This is a massive hit into campaign funding and slush money the DNC generates from Planned Parenthood. Look at Planned Parenthood’s campaign donations. They are 100% to DNC candidates. The DNC are running their campaigns on the revenue from slaughtering babies.

They spent $45+ million on the 2020 elections alone. Every penny was given to Democrats. You may wonder why an entity that requires government subsidy to function would have that much money to dontate. Well , this is how you REALLY run a grift big time. In total, the pro-abortion groups received $1.8 billion in taxpayer dollars over a recent three-year period. The Democrat politicians are not concerned about “women’s rights”, they are upset because they just lost $20+ million in campaign funding per year.

  2. Anne,
Going to post this to Facebook again on Friday, June 24, 2022, upon the death of RvW. Locals need to know. And we may see people from Utah and other states coming to Colorado. Thank you for your research.

    • Nothing brings in summertime more than an abortion. Just get rid of that detritus from “loves” and seasons past.

  3. 1. Do you believe in human rights?
    2. Who do you think should have human rights?
(We know that the unborn are human, because when two humans procreate, it’s always within their species)
    3. If human rights are for all humans, and we know the unborn is human; isn’t abortion a violation of human rights?

      • The same people who smugly told you to “just find another job” and completely change the standard of living, career and life for you and your entire family (due to vaccine mandates) are now crying over MAYBE having to travel a few hours to kill babies.

    • So then, after the birth, for the span of time from womb to tomb, what human rights do you support? Which do you oppose? Or is it just a free-for-all, with jesus responsible for everything, with you being the only “winner” because you “believe in jesus”. Sure sounds like the belief in jesus is the original violation – the root of all violations.

  4. Thank you for providing this valuable information. If only the daily sentinel would print that on its front page.
