68 Elected officials in Colorado House District 3 sign letter to House leadership condemning Boebert’s actions

CD3 House Rep. Lauren Boebert is under scrutiny for her association with right wing groups that supported the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6, 2021

68 elected officials from cities and counties across Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District have sent a letter (pdf) January 12 to House leaders condemning CD-3 Rep. Lauren Boebert and asking them to open an investigation into Boebert’s actions leading up to, and on the day of the insurrectionist attack on the Capitol by Trump supporters on January 6.

The letter was sent to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and was signed by elected officials from the counties of Routt, Pueblo, Eagle, Lake, Gunnison, Pitkin, Saguache, Ouray, La Plata, Hinsdale, San Miguel, and San Juan and from the cities of Durango, Bayfield, Crested Butte, Gunnison, Eagle, Lake City, Ophir, Mountain Village, Leadville, Ridgway, Telluride, Glenwood Springs, Avon and Aspen.

The letter says, in part:

Representative Boebert’s actions, including her statements on the floor immediately preceding the insurrection and her social media posts leading up to the riots were irresponsible and reprehensible. The nation saw a direct attack on American democracy and the long-standing symbol of that democracy. Representative Boebert’s speech and tweets encouraged the mob mentality of her social media followers and the people who directly participated in the destructive violence that disrupted a lawful democratic process from taking place as scheduled. Three days prior, she took the oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution. Her recent behavior is in direct conflict with her responsibility as an elected official and we ask the leadership of the House of Representatives to thoroughly investigate her actions. We believe there is more than enough information to warrant an investigation and we ask that you follow through with any appropriate disciplinary actions.

The leaders condemned Boebert’s association with right wing groups who supported the insurrection and said they’d  heard overwhelming similar sentiments from the constituents within their districts.

The letter says the elected officials tried multiple times to contact Rep. Boebert directly over these issues and got no response.

  1. Palin led to Boebert. Palin led to a lot of things. Like Palin, Boebert has an impoverished incurious mind, a violent insurrectionist heart, and an embarrassing admission that she “believes” a noun/pronoun called Jesus is waiting/returning for her. What a dangerous dummy.

    • Laurn babert is really a dunce! Her husband must not care having should a minor and everyone elsse in the bowling alley where he was drunk. For a qnon fool, she does not care if her husband flashes his private parts to minors! What a drunken fool.

  2. Having a personality disorder is not a crime. One of our most unpopular presidents likely shares this diagnosis. I just hope it’s not an autosomal dominant.
