Mesa County Commissioner Janet Rowland vs. former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters: Lots of similarities

When their behaviors as elected officials are compared, Mesa County Commissioner Janet Rowland and former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters have more in common than people may realize:

Chart of Janet vs. Tina

One big difference: Janet still holds elected office while Tina is out of office and facing trial and potential prison time for multiple felonies related to her time in office.

Other than that, plenty of similarities.

Janet Rowland, from her campaign video titled “Transparency.” Rowland says, “I believe transparency in government is absolutely critical…I believe that you, the taxpayer, should know what your government is up to, and how they’re spending your money.” But she’s spent tens of thousands in taxpayer money to attack Mesa County Public Health Department Director Jeff Kuhr in a way that intentionally avoided complying with policies that are in place to assure transparency in government spending.

  1. You forgot the most important part: just like Lauren Boubert, this isn’t about good decisions or good government. It’s about owning the libs. And for that reason, both Tina and Janet will be exempted from consequences and will probably get reelected. It’s The Mesa County Way.

  2. I think most of us have made this connection already with these twin wing nuts. I hope Mr. Kuhr will sue her for defamation of character but we may likely have to pay that bill from her power crazed activities. Sickening chapter in our local politics to be sure. The race is on to see which one will cost the taxpayers more!!
