Social media is increasingly filled with videos of incidents in which Border Patrol agents, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and police, often masked and using gestapo-like tactics like profiling people by their race (including American and American-born citizens), are randomly stopping, detaining and threatening people for no reason and demanding to see their documents. People are often treated roughly and in some cases are taken into custody and disappeared to detention centers in other states without any due process or notice to the people being kidnapped or their families.
In Massachusetts, a screaming young girl was held face down on the pavement by police while ICE grabbed her mother:

A Texas man on his way to work was pulled over by ICE in a random stop. ICE was pulling people over in a dark highway underpass where people couldn’t see who was stopping them. ICE agents then demanded to see the man’s documents. His wife says “Trump lied” when he said they were only be going after people with nown criminal records. “No,” she says, “they are randomly pulling over every single car under a freeway overpass and asking for legal documentation to see if they are U.S. citizens.”

19 year old Ximena Arias Cristobal, who born in Mexico and was brought to America at the age of four, was stopped for failing to use her turn signal. ICE pulled her over for this minor infraction, seized her, put chains on her wrists and ankles and sent her to the Stewart Detention Center in Georgia. She may be there for a month, or more, and could then be sent to Mexico, where she has no family, no familiarity and no connections:

Our earth is constantly changing and there is coal in the upper layers of Mt Garfield which means there was abundant life there at one time.
I gave up on the idea that our planet is an entirely stable place that we have a hope of bending to our will. This is not to say we should be careless. I’d rather spend my time being gobsmacked at what happened to make it this way and learning the theories about how it came about.
Your comment about our credit rating made me think of the ratings agencies giving all those bundled “troubled assets” triple A ratings so the pension funds would gobble them up.

I thought his responses in the town hall were decent. It looks like he has pushed back on Medicaid reductions to support his constituents. He also wants congressional control over tariff’s. Yes, the meetings of the Friday Bagels group are still going on from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday Mornings in the back room at Main St. Bagels, across from the restrooms. Some Bagelers also still meet on Thursday mornings from 9-11 on Zoom. If you attend the Friday Bagels meeting in person, talk to meeting chair Claudette to find out how to get in on the Zoom. There are usually 7-10 people on those Zoom calls.

I’ve never heard of Richardson before. I looked up this quote but couldn’t find it. I presume she is saying these people snatchers aren’t neccessarily legit.
I did look at her substack and want to return but I also noticed she was against throwing out Biden after the debate for “historical” reasons. She didn’t get a lot of support for that view from fellow democrats.

A couple of comments:
the truck driver in Miami didn’t “handle” the ICE agent. In fact, the video served to show how exceedingly polite and professional ICE is. And it looked like that truck was gonna stay put until ICE got what it wanted.
And the social influencer, Aaron Parnas, is the son of Lev Parnas…the guy who turned on Trump back during his first term. Aaron calls himself a journalist and makes a living reading “breaking news” to people from his laptop.

The Supreme Court is starting to push back on Trump and his Executive orders. Congress is as well, and will push even more as Trump struggles. USA credit rating was downgraded which will make the USA purchased treasury bills to finance our debt will get more expensive. That means that our debt will increase and the tax cuts won’t go through. so the rest of his term will be blaming Biden and immigrants and maybe Comey.
Speaking of Biden, it appears his wife Jill was running the country for two years because his cabinet. did not have access to him.
One other item. Badhat, climate change is real, and few dispute it. They may disagree about what has caused it, but the Earth surface is getting warmer. Antartica increased until 2014. And at that time, it appears to have increased because fresh water draining from glaciers into the ocean freezes at a higher temperature. It doesn’t happen so much in the Arctic because it is not as cold and there are stronger currents that mix the fresh water drainage more quickly.
