Following is an important message from Indivisible Grand Junction for participants in the national No Kings Day protest on June 14, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Canyon View Park, 730 24 Road, in Northwest Grand Junction at 24 and G Roads:
The event is for people who understand Trump has brought the United States to the brink of becoming an authoritarian regime: Trump has been violating the Constitution, court orders, and U.S. laws and civil rights. Trump accepted a $400 million dollar gift from a foreign country in violation of the U.S. Constitution’s Emoluments Clause; he charged wealthy people millions to attend dinners with him where they can gain access to him; he has monetized the U.S. Presidency to enrich himself and his own family members by issuing his own stablecoin/crypto currency. By all measures, just five months into his second presidential term, the Trump regime has already become the most corrupt presidential administration in U.S. history.
This behavior will continue, and worsen, as long as citizens allow it to.
Americans are starting to grasp the fact that only they can stop this corruption and destruction of our democracy, and it must be done through collective action.
Here are Indivisible’s instructions for participating in the No Kings Day protest:
—————
Hello Neighbors! We are excited for a peaceful, safe event of solidarity on Saturday for No Kings Day.
We are joining in over 1800 other events that are happening across our country!
We will meet at 10:00 a.m. at the northwest side of the parking lot near the basketball courts. You will have the chance to make a No Kings crown and follow the safety team to 24 Road.
Our goal is to fill the sidewalk on the west side of 24 Road from the overpass south as far as we can! We will encourage you to stay single file for safety AND the biggest impact! There is an option to stay in the park for any reason – be aware of your boundaries.
There will be a lot of people in the park: Please carpool if you can.
Safety team volunteers will be present both in the park and along 24 Road.
Safety First – Know Your Surroundings:
-Stay on the sidewalk or designated pedestrian area at all times. There will be Safety Team members at all crosswalks. Only cross at crosswalks.
There is ample sidewalk space for all of us. Remain single file so people can pass next to you if needed. Never block traffic, climb barriers, or lean over the edge of the overpass.
Be aware of vehicles, especially if people slow down or react aggressively. Do not engage — our power is in our discipline.

Digital Security
-Keep phones on airplane mode or turned off unless needed for emergencies or coordination. Click here to find out why. -Avoid posting faces of other protesters without consent. -Document wisely—if something happens, film from a distance, don’t escalate.
Commit to Nonviolence:
-We are here in joyful resistance. We do not escalate. -Do not engage hecklers, counter-protesters, or aggressive drivers. That’s a job for the Safety Team. -If someone becomes disruptive, alert a safety team member immediately.
Bring What You Need:
Water, snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, umbrella for sun and possible coal-rollers
-Signage with clear, bold messages — keep it focused and legible.
-Bring noisemakers: kazoos, whistles, etc. Please leave behind anything that can be construed as a weapon–err on the side of caution here.
In Case of Emergency:
-If you see any hecklers or counter protesters, do not engage and back away
-If you see anyone doing something destructive or violent: Back away, and alert a Safety Team member
-First aid is located in the park. Safety team members will have first aid kits.
-If police approach or engage, stay calm and silent.
Trump posted this picture of himself as king on Feb. 19, 2025 on his White House social media account. Trump is working to attain total, unchecked power.
-Do not consent to searches. Say, “I do not consent to a search.”
-Have a legal support number written on your arm or somewhere on your body that is covered by clothing.
Look Out for Each Other:
-Stay in pairs or small groups. Check in with those around you.
-If someone looks overwhelmed, anxious or overheated, help them step aside and notify a Safety Team Member.
We keep us safe. We bring joy. We hold the line.
Thank you for showing up for justice — let’s make it powerful and peaceful.

Hey bad hat Harry – you make a few good points- Everyone should not settle on one news source. Every morning I check out four or five different news sources from both sides. It’s quite enlightening how much one can learn just by reading what different entities consider important news! I am constantly amazed that 4 or 5 are in complete agreement as to what’s newsworthy and then one or two consider something ludicrous absolutely the most important information of the day!
I am so proud to be an American. I am a descendant of immigrants – I think most Americans are!- and I’m old enough to remember my grandparents being made fun of because they didn’t speak English fluently. I’m also old enough to know they worked long hard hours , raised 10 hard working intelligent and kind children – five who proudly served in the military. They were extremely proud when they became United States citizens!
I feel sad thinking how much they helped a small community grow and thrive and they would be facing the same prejudices that they encountered when they first arrived. I think it’s time everyone just stop the hate, the harassment, the need to be right, and just be kind to one another!
Freedom of speech is a right we cannot lose.We should all have the right to say what we want to say but we shouldn’t have the right to crucify people for their beliefs!!!
Yes- my thoughts are scattered! I’m an old woman who was lucky enough to know what it felt like to not have to wear a skirt, or not wear panty hose, or- God- forbid- burn my bra!!!!
I always felt so lucky that I was able to live through this fascinating and freeing time for all Americans. Now I feel my grand daughters have been thrown back decades in time compared to the opportunities I had! So alas!!! I’m too old and it’s too hot for me to be at the protest but I wish I could be and defend their right to express themselves. We are still America- 🇺🇸 Please Make America America again!!!!!!
Conflating this protest with ICE protests is wrogheaded.
There are so many things wrong with what Donald Trump is trying to do not to mention that he lies so blatantly and is so transparently in the presidency to line his own pocket that if Republicans will not stand up and speak truth to what is going on then the citizens need to.
The things he says are so simplistic and obviously false that it is embarrassing that an adult much less the president would say such things and expect people to believe him.
Ugh.
Harry, The event today is to push back against our country being taken over by a man who wants to be king. He wants to dismantle the federal government and leave it up to the states to take care of themselves, if that happens the states would not need anyone in Washington so he would be working himself out of a job. This system of government has worked for years and years and we don’t need anyone tearing it apart and telling us how we are going to live our lives this is why we are protesting, I don’t have time to explain everything to you and it seems like you need a lot of education on the subject so maybe you should watch MSNBC a little more often.
Interestingly, Anne’s blog does validate what I learn elsewhere.
The left has tons of ideas, no question about whether they’re viable and no idea who is supposed to pay for them.
Open borders is just the most recent iteration of this pie in the sky idealism. And now you lionize politicians who refuse to enforce the law…because Trump
But it does have the advantage of fooling you into feeling superior to other people… which may be the entire point.
(wink)
Thanks, Anne, for these important details. I won’t be able to make it, but I’m hoping for a large turnout, with no “issues”, no confrontations, and another important statement being relayed to our Congressional and Senatorial representatives. Sending good wishes to those brave neighbors who will be standing up for what’s right, and speaking out against governmental overreach.
“In the 2024 election, Donald Trump received approximately 43% of the overall Latino vote, which marked an increase from 32% in 2020. Notably, he garnered around 55% support from Latino men specifically.”
I’m always curious about how you expect to get rid of Trump by “collective action”. What does that even look like? It seems a little dangerous and extra constitutional.
Why don’t you look around your “deep bench” and find a decent candidate to run in 2028?
Come and see what it looks like. And watch TV, so you can see what it looks like across the United States. And if you do nothing yourself, you’re complicit in letting the U.S. turn into a dictatorship. If you’re thinking “I’m not going to worry since they’re not coming after me,” that’s a heads up that we’re already in a dictatorship.
So Anne. What should I do so as not to be complicit? Hate the president and stand on a corner with a sign?
I know it infuriates you that Trump (or any republican) was lawfully elected and there’s nothing to be done about that except maybe spend the next two years (after the election, if you take the house and senate)
impeaching and convicting him. Holding signs doesn’t cut it.
You have been romanced by shady organizations into thinking that you are actually doing something. It’s an illusion and it’s sad that you promote it.
Like I’ve said a hundred times…get some decent candidates for the next election…not Gavin Newsom.
🙂
Generally that refers to the over-compensating wanna-be tough guys driving jacked up trucks who leave a black cloud of exhaust every time they accelerate. I’m not sure what good an umbrella is against that, however.
I always learn something on AnneLandmanBlog.
I’m tempted to “go down to the demonstration”,
just to see some democrats in the wild.
They/you have been going after this guy for almost ten years and I think you are driving more people away from your point of view than gaining adherents.
I think it might be instructive if you took the time to tune into some conservative media to see how you are being portrayed. That’s what I do by tuning into MSNBC.
I’ve already said this (ad nauseum) but the democrats’ narrative about the LA ICE enforcement is ludicrous. Add to that Newsom and Bass basically admitting that they are against immigration enforcement, blaming Trump for “the troubles” and threatening to not comply isn’t sitting well with a lot/most Americans.
It’s a huge risk you are taking by supporting “NO ICE” protesters. Everyone knows those officers (including the National Guard) are following the letter of the law under extreme conditions.
I’d say something like “this is the democrat playbook”…and that would be true. You guys seem to think if you keep pushing, something you want will come of it. I think all this will result in is a summer of chaos (not necessarily here, but in the country) And unfortunately for you. Trump has the upper hand and is willing to use it.
“Why can’t we all just get along?”
PS, I think it would be wise to ask, “who is leading this effort and what is the goal?”
This is anything but grassroots. They appeared at ICE headquarters immediately after they were alerted by Bass and her staff. Where did they get all their pre-printed signs and brand new Mexican flags?
Do you really want to be led around by the nose by well funded shadow organizations?
We don’t have to look at conservative media to see how we are being portrayed. You are doing a perfect job of that. Your hilarious caricatures tell us that you have no idea what liberals really think.

You aren’t looking for substance. You’re looking for validation.

It certainly seems to have done that for you.

Thank you for broadcasting the important features of the NO KINGS protest. It promises to have great visual impact…press and TV.
The unloved, uncrowned, would be King of Bone Spurs will be threatened, and his weirdness may eventually cause the GOP to dump him.
Thank you Anne –
Your are one, if not the only, entity to announce the time and place of this event.
