On September 27, 2025, 79-year old convicted felon/sexual abuser/President Trump shared the above Fox News-styled AI video of himself promoting a bizarre, fictional, extremist right wing “Med Bed” conspiracy. It was deleted within 12 hours.
The medbed conspiracy theory originated with QAnon. It holds that secret medical healing pods called “Med Beds” exist that can repair virtually all human ills, for example by re-growing missing limbs, reversing the effects of aging and eliminating chronic pain, but that this technology has been deliberately withheld from the public by the so-called “deep state” and powerful elites. The “medbed” conspiracy theory has been popular in right wing extremist areas of the internet,like Rumble, Telegram, X (formerly Twitter) — all audiences with which Trump has sought to curry favor.
MedBeds do not exist, but the conspiracy theory has been used to exploit sick people who are desperate for cures, using pseudo-scientific jargon like “biophotons” and “life force” and by marketing “medbed experiences.”
For some unknown reason, the deep fake “med bed” video Trump posted on his Truth Social account was deleted the day after it was posted, but nevertheless it heightened speculation about Trump’s cognitive state.
To put it in context, ask yourself, “What if a Democrat had done that?”
Imagine for a minute that former President Joe Biden had posted a video like this. A discussion in the news media about his cognitive state would have swept over the country like a tidal wave and persisted for weeks. Despite this, Trump’s med bed video, combined with many other incidents in recent weeks that indicate a clear lapse in Trump’s judgment and mental function, have elicited barely a peep from media news outlets, let alone Republicans.
Consider Trump’s “Med Bed” conspiracy video in the context of other highly inappropriate posts and statements Trump has made just since the beginning of the year that indicate his cognitive decline is intensifying:
— At the start of the current government shutdown, Trump shared multiple vulgar, racist social media posts targeting Democratic leaders.
— On October 2, 2025, before the start of the shutdown, Trump shared a meme on his Truth Social account in which he called the Democratic Party the party of “hate, evil and Satan,” exacerbating legislators’ efforts to negotiate a way to avoid the shutdown.
— On February 25, 2025, Trump shared a dystopic, AI-generated video on Instagram of Palestine portrayed as a Trump-themed vacation resort after he shared his idea of relocating Palestinians to other countries and leveling Gaza to create a “Riviera of the Middle East.” Trump’s Gaza video features a huge, golden statue of himself.
— On May 2, 2025, after Pope Francis died, Trump posted an AI-generated image of himself as pope on Instagram. After returning from Francis’ funeral, Trump told reporters outside the White House that he’d “like to be pope,” and added, “that would be my number one choice.”
— On February 19, 2025, Trump posted an AI image of himself as King, on the cover of TIME Magazine.
— On September 23, 2025, Trump delivered a 56 minute speech to the United National General Assembly (video) in which he discussed Gaza, climate and migrants, but also rambled on about trivia like marble floors, elevators, teleprompters and even cows. Newspapers throughout Europe described Trump’s U.N. speech as “deranged,” “staggering,” “violent” and “incoherent.” A German newspaper said that “Trump’s accusations are becoming crazier every minute,” a much more honest accounting of Trump’s behavior than we have seen here in the U.S.
— On September 28, 2025, Trump shared a post on his Truth Social account saying he had been briefed on a “horrendous” shooting at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Michigan, and he promised to keep the public posted on the investigation. But his next post, just three hours later, was a video of all of the 24 karat gold fixtures he’s had installed in the White House. In the post, Trump wrote “Some of the highest quality 24 Karat Gold used in the Oval Office and Cabinet Room of the White House. Foreign Leaders, and everyone else, ‘freak out’ when they see the quality and beauty. Best Oval Office ever, in terms of success and look!!! President DJT”
— Around October 3, 2025, right after the current government shutdown started, Trump posted a bizarre, AI-generated “Grim Reaper” video featuring himself and Russell Vought, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB):
This isn’t an exhaustive list of all the inappropriate and utterly cringy things Trump has said and done that in any normal world would indicate incoherence, instability, dementia and a lack of rationality. (Just take a look at his Truth Social account.) There have been loads more, especially if you go back to last fall during his campaign for president, for example when he discussed the genitalia of deceased pro golfer Arnold Palmer at length. But consider that much of this has occurred in just the last several months.
These are not the acts of a mentally fit person.

Republicans have not made a peep about how utterly deranged their Dear Leader is acting on the world stage, apparently thinking that everyone should just ignore it and accept it.
Well, some of us watching all this are horrified and willing to call it what it is: obvious, terrifying mental incompetence by the person who occupying one of the most consequential elected offices on Earth, and not one Republican has the spine to even mention it, let alone take action to save the U.S. from the danger it poses to the country.
Nearly all Republican lawmakers are silent in the face of their leader’s selfishness, immorality, and confusion. Mitt Romney has said that he understands why most of his GOP colleagues do not stand against the harmful actions and speech of the MAGA president.
He said “few of my colleagues can afford thousands of dollars a day that I have to pay for security. I have 44 grandchildren, Protecting them costs more than most lawmakers can afford.”
We live under the growing iron heel of not only a cult leader, but a Mafia boss. In nine months, the White House has increased unemployment, raised prices, and has gone to war with our healthcare.
