The first candidate to enter the race for Mesa County Treasurer was Grand Junction chiropractor Greg Haitz, who has no background or experience in finance. The second candidate was Rose Pugliese, who also has no background or experience in finance. But finally someone with actual knowledge, education and experience in finance has entered the race: Christina Schultz, a degreed financial professional who has over two decades of experience in financial modeling, auditing, and strategic planning. Schultz is endorsed by the Forward Party, the a centrist political party

started by Andrew Yang, a businessman, attorney, political commentator and author who ran for president in the primary elections in 2020. Perhaps you remember Yang’s slogan that he wore on a blue ball cap or on a pin on his lapel: MATH, which stands for “Make America Think Again.”

Schultz has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Yale and was the youngest graduating member of her class at the Yale School of Management.  She has loads of experience and knowledge in the field of finance, and wants to make sure county funds generate the maximum revenue possible. She is very qualified to hold the position of Mesa County Treasurer, and we’re fortunate that she’s stepped up to run. Check out her campaign website to see all of her experience. Schultz has experience in expense and revenue analysis, auditing government grants, managing financial statements, and lots more.

Her name will appear on the ballot in Colorado’s primary election on June 30, 2026.

    1. No Haiters! So agree, and the description here is very interesting. It would be nice to have someone qualified as opposed to another good ol’ boy.
