Convicted Felon/Adjudicated Sexual Abuser/Donald Trump just set up a formal subscription service that offers financial firms and institutional investors early access to his social media posts that can move financial markets, in exchange for payments of $100,000/month to Trump’s media company, Trump Media & Technology Group. Trump is the single most influential user of Truth Social and the biggest shareholder of the company, so Trump stands to profit the most off the service.
Trump has already used the office of the presidency to generate between $2.2 billion and $2.4 billion in personal income during the first year of his second term. His personal wealth has more than tripled since he took office a second time, in 2025. When his family’s broader corporate interests are taken into account, including ventures like his meme coin and crypto scams, some independent estimates suggest the total revenue the Trump family has derived from his presidency is closer to $4 billion.
Trump Media calls the subscription service Truth PSI, where “PSI”which stands for “Priority Speed Index.” The plan is for Trump to post insider information about policy changes he is making to his Truth Social account (a Twitter clone he set up after he was banned from Twitter) a short time before making the information available to the general public, to give his wealthy paid subscribers a big financial advantage over all other investors.
Trump’s Truth Social account has just under 13 million followers.
He uses Truth Social to announce major policy decisions before making them available through formal announcements, press releases or other means.
Trump’s Truth Social posts have generated abrupt fluctuations in global stock markets, foreign currencies, the energy industry and other sectors of the economy. Some examples include his announcement of “Liberation Day” tariffs on April 2, 2025, and then just days later, on April 9, 2025, his announcement of a 90-day pause on the “Liberation Day” tariffs; his October 10, 2025 threat to level a 100% tariff on goods from China, his announcement of hostilities against Iran in February 2026 which caused major movement in energy markets, and his repeated announcements on Sundays of ceasefires with Iran, which move markets on Mondays.
His intent is to generate wild swings in the stock markets, then profit off them and help other wealthy people and companies profit off them.
Kathleen Clark of Washington University School of Law, an expert in government conflicts of interest rules, says the laws governing conflicts of interest for federal government officials prohibit officials from owning a company that profits from their office by selling access to their decisions through public posts, but the president and vice-president are excluded from the provision.
Trump’s Truth PSI service is considered blatant market manipulation and open corruption by a sitting president, and widely recognized as illegal insider trading.
Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) said of Trump’s move, “He doesn’t care anymore. It’s just non-stop, in-your-face corruption.”
In a social media post three days ago, Sen. Murphy said,
“Trump just announced that he is setting up an insider trading information subscription service. If you pay Donald Trump $100,000 a month, he will give you early access to the announcements he’s making regarding federal policy — early access to information about tariffs, early access to information about the Iran war or early access to information about what country he’s bombing next. This is a criminal syndicate that he’s running out in the open. It is illegal to make money off of inside information. Donald Trump is literally setting up a formal process by which you can pay him a bribe in exchange for information that no one else has, $100,000 a month. Big billion dollar corporations have that money, and when they have advance notice of a tariff announcement they can place bets on the market and be able to make millions of dollars, while ordinary Americans who cannot pay him for inside information get screwed. None of this is normal. A lot of this is illegal and I will just say to companies out there, if you choose to take part in this scheme and it proves to be [as] illegal as it looks on its face, you are going to eventually be held accountable.”

Republicans in Congress, who hold the majority in both houses and the U.S. Supreme Court, have so far refused to take any action to stop Trump’s rampant violations of law, corruption and self-enrichment while in office. The only way he can be stopped and held accountable is by electing only Democrats in the midterm election in November, many of whom have publicly pledged to stand up to Trump if elected, and hold him accountable for repeated violations of the Constitution, U.S. laws, court orders, norms and ethical guidelines.
