After months of pressure, vengeful actions taken against the state and juvenile badmouthing from convicted felon/sexual abuser/President Trump, Colorado Governor Jared Polis, a Democrat, caved and commuted the sentence of former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters today, reducing her sentence by half and making her eligible for parole on June 1, 2026. She was supposed to serve 9 years in prison and would not have been eligible for parole until 2028. Now she could be out by June 1.
Polis was under the impression that Peters was sentenced too harshly when she actually was given less than half the prison time she was eligible for based on her crimes. Peters was eligible for over 20 years in prison and was sentenced to less than half that.
Peters has never once shown a bit of contrition over the laws she has broken, the harm she has done to her co-workers in the County Clerk’s office, the damage she’s done to confidence in elections across the country or the high price Mesa County taxpayers were forced to pay as a result of her criminal behavior. To the contrary, Peters has insisted all along that she did nothing wrong, has continued to call herself a “political hostage,” blame others for her situation and demand special treatment. In a post on the Christian fundraising website GiveSentGo from March 23, 2026, Peters vowed to “go on the offensive against those who have destroyed her name and uprooted her life,” posing what appears to be a threat to the Mesa County District Attorney who prosecuted her, and the judge who oversaw her trial and sentenced her:

Peters has a track record of seeking special treatment and asking people to cheat for her:
Her demands for special treatment now seem to be getting rewarded in spades.
Peters is now being rewarded for committing crimes , and Polis is aiding Peters’ and Trump’s efforts to degrade the rule of law and render it meaningless, and further erode American democracy, which is currently sinking fast under the weigh of a a vengeful, authoritative, criminal president and weak Democrats in office.
People who want to appeal to the state Parole Board to keep Tina in prison for the remaining half time of her original sentence and write to the Colorado State Parole Board at 1600 W. 24th St. Bldg. 54 Pueblo, CO 81003 or phone them at 719-583-5800.

these nazi traitors get by with anything they do with the help of people who are supposed to be on our side. we can’t win this. election in nov? it’s
not going to happen no way will give up power. not looking at “news anymore”.
No matter what Polis has done, no matter what he will do, this will be the first sentence of his historical record, and just like all trumppublicans, he doesn’t care. He just slapped Mesa County, his SOS, the judge, and the jury in the face but since his new BFF is MAGA what else can you expect. It’s what they excel at.
