Incumbent Republican CD-3 House Rep. Jeff Hurd announced he will be holding an in-person town hall in Grand Junction on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. in the first floor conference room at the Old Mesa County Courthouse at 544 Rood Ave. He posted notice of the meeting on Facebook and Instagram at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, September 4, but there is no announcement of the meeting on his Congressional website. The last post there is dated February 19, 2026.
One person commented on Rep. Hurd’s Instagram post about the meeting that “most people are working at that time,” and suggested Hurd “do it on a weekend and not on a weekday.”
An in-person town hall is a rarity for Hurd. He has been criticized for holding mostly telephonic town halls where questions are screened and he doesn’t have to be face-to-face with his constituents.

Virtually no notice the morning after a long holiday weekend when people not around to get notice or to attend as on vacation, set on a workday, and for a very short time. Hurd is not interested in talking to anyone, that is clear. Performatory but not substantive – just so he can say he is interested in hearing from his constituents but not really – and not at a convenient public local forum either. What a joke.
