Tina Peters found guilty of obstructing government operations

After a two day trial, a 6-person jury today found former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters not guilty on the charge of obstructing a peace officer, but guilty on the charge of obstructing government operations. The jury deliberated for about half a day.

The obstruction of government operations charge is a 3rd degree misdemeanor that carries a mandatory sentence of up to six months in jail and a $750 fine.

Peters is scheduled to be sentenced on April 10.

  1. Say what?? When did it become okay to kick a police officer? Tina/Tammy/Karen, whatever you want to call her, got away with this because she’s white. Plain and simple.

  2. Apparently it is ok to kick an officer! This is what is so wrong with the country. People like TP (ha-ha) think they are above the law. One of her supporters who was moved for speaking out in court close to the jury, stated TP is just saving our country!!! She is costing Mesa county millions of our tax dollars.

  3. Lucky for Ole Tina that Mesa County is chock full of anti-government nutcases and Republican dupes!
