UPDATE: Archer’s been found! A neighbor found him several subdivisions away and returned him to his family this morning. Happy ending!

We believe Archer, a therapy dog, was taken from his yard this morning between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. from a neighborhood in the vicinity of 25 1/2 and G Roads. His family needs him desperately. Help us find this dog!

Our neighbor’s adopted golden retriever mix, Archer, was taken from their yard in our subdivision near 25 1/2 and G Roads this morning between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. Archer is a therapy dog for our neighbor’s teen foster daughter who is dealing with trauma. Having him nearby helps her sleep — she just got off sleeping medication because of Archer. The family really needs him and they are desperate to get him back. Archer weighs about 25 lbs, is microchipped, has a blue plaid collar with a Mesa County dog license, a rabies tag and ID tag with phone number. He is about 5 months old, and his distinguishing feature is his unusually long, curly, thin tail that curls over his back like an Afghan dog when he’s walking around. His theft has been reported to the Grand Junction Police.

THIS DOG DID NOT RUN OFF. Whenever he’s been out of the yard before, he’s stayed nearby because he’s strongly attached to the neighbors’ older dog. Even if Archer had wandered off  nearby in the neighborhood, neighbors would have found him and called the owners. The family has gone door to door looking for him with no luck, and the family hasn’t heard anything all day.

This dog was stolen.

If you see this dog, or anyone with this dog, please call Angela Scott immediately at 970-210-0431.

Archer has a tail like this Afghan hound. It’s long and thin and curls over his back like this.
