Trump admits he lost the 2020 election, causing supporters to turn on him

Mesa County’s die-hard, Trump-loving Republicans probably won’t want to hear this, but Donald Trump admitted in a September 3, 2024 interview with Lex Fridman that he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden “by a whisker.” The full interview of Trump is 1 hour and 4 minutes long. The admission that he lost the 2020 election starts at 10:41 in the interview.

And this is not the only time Trump has admitted this, either.

During a visit to the southern border in Arizona last August, he acknowledged that he lost the election, saying he “came up a little short.”

Trump’s admissions come after years in which he relentlessly lied to his supporters by claiming he was robbed of victory in the 2020 election due to widespread voter fraud, a claim that he’s never proven. Despite this, millions of Americans believed him.

Mesa County Commissioner Bobbie Daniel bought into the lie that Trump won the 2020 election

Many prominent Mesa County residents also believed Trump’s lie about losing the election, most notably former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters, who  breached the County’s voting equipment in a Quixotic attempt to dig up “proof” of Trump’s claim. As a result, she was convicted on August 12 of four felonies and three misdemeanors and is now facing substantial prison time.

Mesa County Commissioner Bobbie Daniel also bought into Trump’s Big Lie, according to at least one of her posts on Facebook after the election that has a photo saying “Biden is not my president.” So did CD-3 House Rep. Lauren Boebert. Mesa County’s Board of Public Health chair, Stephen D. Daniels, remains staunch Trump supporter, and former Grand Junction City Council Candidate Mark McAllister, a Tina Peters supporter, also bought the whole election fraud lie.

Lex Fridman is a research scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) who specializes human-robot interaction and machine learning. He also has a podcast series in which he as interviewed notable public figures like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Kanye West and others.

Trump is starting to get backlash from supporters who gave their all in service of the Big Lie, and who put a tremendous amount of their lives and fortunes into clinging to, and promoting the lie that Trump won the 2020 election. White supremacist Nick Fuentes in particular, who has been a staunch and very public supporter of Trump, has now turned against him, blasting him on the right wing video hosting site Rumble.com, and saying:

“Why did anyone go to January 6th? Why is anyone sitting in jail? Why did anything bad happen to anybody? Why did everyone get censored? Why is everything bad that has happened to the people that are involved? Why did that need to happen? If you’re just going to walk it all back and say, ‘Oh, I lost.’ Well, it would’ve been good to know that before 1600 people got charged. It would’ve been good to know that before I had all my money frozen, put on no fly list, banned from everything, lost all banking and payment processing. It would’ve been good to know that.”

  1. I think a more fair interpretation of what Trump is saying is that despite all the illegal voting rule changes, media collusion, false statements by the intelligence community and just plain old democrat dirty tricks…he *still* only lost the 2020 election to the basement dwelling Joe Biden by a little bit.

And I venture to say millions of voters agree with that view…no matter what your new friend, Nick Fuentes, has to say about it.

    • Ya know Harry, there are safe and effective drugs to treat paranoid delusions, I’m pretty sure that Obamacare will cover them. I suggest that you seek professional help to return yourself to reality and being an useful citizen.

    • What about the all the courts across our nation, many who have Trump appointed judges, who have not found a shred of evidence that the 2020 election was stolen? Are you saying all those Trump appointed judges, which number more than 60, lied?? You are living in an alternate universe.

    • Tr*mp supporters say they like him because he “tells it like it is”.

So why does badhatharry — and so many others — need to explain to us what Tr*mp actually meant? “Fine people on both sides.” “Stand back and stand by.” “Grab ’em by the p***y.” It happens time and again.
