A Door Dash driver delivering auto parts to Berkley Automotive at 436 S. 5th Street in Grand Junction at 8:30 a.m. on June 12 reported (pdf) being chased out of the business by a male who was “being homophobic” and yelling “gay bastard.” The driver was shaken and tried to leave the business, but the man stood in front of the delivery car to block it, kept yelling “gay bastard” and yelling at the driver to “never show their face around the auto shop again.”

The driver reported the incident to the Grand Junction Police Department in accordance with Door Dash company protocol, and contacted the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel about the incident. The Sentinel published a story about the incident on June 15.  Door Dash has reportedly blocked further deliveries to Berkley Automotive as a result.

The driver, who wanted to remain anonymous, didn’t know who the harasser was until the Sentinel showed the driver a picture of the business owner, Mark Berkley. The driver then was able to identify Berkley as the harasser.

  1. Seems like an incomplete story. Why would anyone just start yelling at a someone delivering food?
What were the circumstances that led up to this situation?

    1. Anne is prone to leave things out depending on who she likes. She does this habitually.

The Sentinel interviewed Berkley and he tells a different story, but who knows what really happened?Homophobia isnt a crime, yet, but I suppose the driver could press charges. The police report says “harrassment”.

      1. Well, you leave inconvenient things out as well. Details like critisizing Democrats for corruption while ignoring the two billion dollars that Kushner got from Saudi Arabia, or the fees Trump charges the Secret Service to golf at his own properties. Just ignore those things because they get in the way of your cheering the end of democracy.
