A Door Dash driver delivering auto parts to Berkley Automotive at 436 S. 5th Street in Grand Junction at 8:30 a.m. on June 12 reported (pdf) being chased out of the business by a male who was “being homophobic” and yelling “gay bastard.” The driver was shaken and tried to leave the business, but the man stood in front of the delivery car to block it, kept yelling “gay bastard” and yelling at the driver to “never show their face around the auto shop again.”

The driver reported the incident to the Grand Junction Police Department in accordance with Door Dash company protocol, and contacted the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel about the incident. The Sentinel published a story about the incident on June 15. Door Dash has reportedly blocked further deliveries to Berkley Automotive as a result.
The driver, who wanted to remain anonymous, didn’t know who the harasser was until the Sentinel showed the driver a picture of the business owner, Mark Berkley. The driver then was able to identify Berkley as the harasser.
Unacceptable behavior. Hopefully the police department is investigating this incident as a hate crime.
The driver was delivering parts, not food. Here is the definition of homophobia: “dislike of or prejudice against gay people.”
Seems like an incomplete story. Why would anyone just start yelling at a someone delivering food?
What were the circumstances that led up to this situation?
Anne is prone to leave things out depending on who she likes. She does this habitually.
The Sentinel interviewed Berkley and he tells a different story, but who knows what really happened?Homophobia isnt a crime, yet, but I suppose the driver could press charges. The police report says “harrassment”.
Well, you leave inconvenient things out as well. Details like critisizing Democrats for corruption while ignoring the two billion dollars that Kushner got from Saudi Arabia, or the fees Trump charges the Secret Service to golf at his own properties. Just ignore those things because they get in the way of your cheering the end of democracy.
Yes, I leave things out. I’m not running a blog. I’m commenting. You leave things out, too. (Biden was just having a bad day) I guess we all do.
So, maybe you think I should start every comment by mentioning the Secret Service and Jerod Kushner?
Besides, I never said Trump is perfect. In fact. I said he’s deeply flawed (as are we all).
I just think he’s (so far) an effective president and has been racking up a lot of wins lately. Time will tell if those things end up having been good. But he is persisting in the face of a lot of headwinds and that seems to infuriate you.
You keep hammering on your claim that he’s destroying democracy.
You even suggested that he would postpone the midterms. And you mock me when I don’t share your hysteria.
I did look into the Kushner situation which happened in 2017 (? ). Lots of soap box democrats (elizabeth warren) demanded an investigation but it didn’t go anywhere and now is forgotten. It’s entirely possible that his
business (an investment fund) wasn’t kosher. That kind of money almost always results in some kind of corruption. But maybe it wasn’t. It was never decided.
I’m sure someone has written a book about it…just as many books have been written about corruption. Did you know that it took ten years for the SEC to go after Madoff after a whistleblower showed them his business was a Ponzi scheme?
We live in a complicated world with many competing interests.
The bottom line is we’re all looking for the smoking gun to tell us how to vote. The dems went after Trump relentlessly for nine years and ended up with Trump in the Whitehouse. What they didn’t count on is that people became more sympathetic and dug in the more they pushed.
There should be a lesson in that.
The lesson is that a liberal like Anne, upholding her commitment to the first Amendment (even on a private platform, where it’s not required), gets no regard or respect from a Trump fan for allowing him to continue spewing his lies and insults unabated; flouting her courtesy is his way of mirroring his Dear Leader’s behavior, because to him, rude and snide is “strong”, like he thinks his leader is.
Anne believes in the Constitution, and puts that into practice.
Harry acts like this because it makes him feel better about himself.
Actually, Anne and I had an email exchange not long ago. She thanked me for keeping my posts civil and thoughtful and I congratulated her for not banning me, because my views differ so radically from hers and her fan base.
I think that shows character and I told her so.
PS. she asked me not to over-post…but sometimes it’s hard.
So, you acknowledge her kindness, you admit that she shows character by not banning you, even as much as you love to skirt the edges, and then offer thats it’s hard for you to do as she asks?
I’m pretty sure she knows what she’s doing; banning you would just lead to a flood of alts, all with little clues that it’s really you behind the psuedonyms, like you’re Moriarty or something.
I’ll bet Anne knows a good therapist who could help you with this desperate need you have to be a bad boy.
