Haitz calls another D-51 School Board Special Meeting on short notice, this time to be held Wed., 2/9 @ 3:15 p.m. in the Butler Board Room

School Board President Andrea Haitz is clearly rattled in this 7 minute video of last night’s meeting (2/7/22, above), taken before the Board went into Executive Session. Her voice quivers, and she gets items for the meeting out of order.

District 51 School Board President Andrea Haitz has scheduled another Special Board Meeting on Wednesday, February 9 at 3:15 p.m. in the Harry Butler Board Room at R-5, same location as yesterday’s meeting. Like the one on Monday night, this one was also scheduled with very short notice. People have noticed the time of day when Haitz plans to hold the meeting will make it difficult for teachers to attend.

The School District so far has not posted an agenda for the meeting, and  D-51 Board Secretary Bridget Story says she’s “at the mercy of the school board president and legal” to get an agenda for the meeting. She said she believes that this meeting will be a continuation of yesterday’s meeting, since board members did not conclude their discussion about employment contracts by the time they adjourned.

Nick Allan is calling for people to gather once again at this meeting

Nick Allen, former candidate for school board

People are asked to gather outside this second meeting to support Superintendent Sirko, Assistant Superintendent Brian Hill and Tracy Gallegos, Director of Equity and Inclusion, since the meeting is about re-examining their employment contracts, presumably with an eye toward ways the new Board can fire them, since Haitz, Angela Lema and Willie Jones have been mimicking the Douglas County School Board’s playbook very closely. The Douglas County School Board voted 4-3 to fire their long time Superintendent, Corey Wise, without cause last week.

Nick says

“Let’s do everything we can to get folks there. Especially since teachers cannot come [due to the time of day].”

The meeting is at the R-5 School, 455 N. 22nd St., in the Harry Butler Board Room, and starts at 3:15 p.m. Supporters will probably want to gather at about 2:55 p.m. so the board members will see the supporters.

  1. “clearly rattled”….
Life sure looks different when you’re on the other side of the legitimate political discourse, doesn’t it?

  2. Jesus christ! She can’t even correctly pronounce the word “pursuant”! Words are hard, but I would assume if you’re in charge of the school board you’d at least know how to read and pronounce words. Our kids are screwed!

  3. Why is she nervous? Last night she was totally safe

The anti-vaccine, anti-mask, “Christian” crowd that elected her threatened the police during school board meetings months ago. I heard them myself: the antimaskers repeatedly told the on site security “there’s more of us than there is of you.”

The crowd that showed up last night shook hands with Will “Strip Club” Jones as he walked into the meeting. It’s time to be clear: Haitz, Lima, and Jones–and Ficklin–use anger, outrage, and subterfuge while preying on the public’s ignorance.

Last night’s crowd was calm, orderly, positive–and house broken.

The crowd that elected the conservative school board is the crowd of ignorant, violent cowards that smeared feces on the walls of the capital or the country they claim they love.

Maybe Andrea is worried about bankruptcy if her husband gets sued for medical malpractice and fraud for his phone COVID cures…?
