Following is a summary of recommended votes for the 2024 Mesa County General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025:
School District Offices:
Mesa County Valley School District 51 Director, District C: Mike Rathbone (Note: Admittedly this candidate has little experience with District 51, but I’m recommending this vote to get incumbent Andrea Haitz, who has violated D-51’s School Board Ethics Code, posted hateful anti-transgender memes on social media accounts, belonged to an anti-transgender Facebook group and more, off the D-51 School Board.)
Mesa County Valley School District 51 Director, District D: Kaci Cole
Mesa County Valley School District 51 Director, District E: Vicki Woods
Ballot Measures:
Proposition LL – To fund the state’s Healthy School Meals for All program which funds public schools to offer free breakfast and lunch to all K-12 students. The measure would not raise taxes, but allows the state to keep and spend revenue already generated by voter-approved taxes on individuals earning incomes of $300,000 or more: YES/FOR
Proposition MM – Increases taxes on people making $300,000 or more by approximately $95 million/year state-wide (about $486 per household) to help the schools use nutritious, fresh, Colorado-grown and raised products in school meals instead of using processed foods, fund an increase in wages for the school employees who prepare and serve the meals, and help support the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) that helps low-income Colorado families afford groceries: YES/FOR
EZ Ballot: 3 FLIPS and 2 YUPS! Flip this School Board! School lunches for all!
I get tired of our seniors who own homes and are not in that $300,000 bracket having their property taxes increased and Mesa County refusing to give them a break..denying their application for reduction in property taxes.
