On Tuesday, the official Instagram account of Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, “@TrumpWarRoom,” posted a blatantly racist meme implying that if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the presidency in November, placid suburban neighborhoods will be overrun with hordes of Black people and immigrants.
It can’t be a mistake because the Trump campaign tweeted the exact same post on X.
The meme showed a peaceful middle class neighborhood next to a photo of mostly Black recent immigrants waiting outside the Roosevelt Hotel in New York in hopes of securing shelter. The nice neighborhood is labeled “Your neighborhood under Trump,” and the photo with Black people is labeled “Your neighborhood under Kamala.”
Trump’s comment accompanying the post is, “Import the third world. Become the third world.”
Trump has a long, well-documented history of racism and emboldening racist ideology.
Most recently, he challenged Vice President Kamala Harris’ race by saying she was previously ethnically Indian and then “happened to turn Black.”
Trump won in Mesa County in the 2020 general election by a huge margin of about 63% to 35% for Biden/Harris, and no wonder. The Mesa County GOP and many Mesa County residents, including prominent citizens, organizations and even elected officials, have made racist statements and modeled racist behavior. A few examples:
–In August of 2016, someone captured video of a woman cutting loose with a racist rant in the parking lot of the Mesa County Public Health Department and posted it on Facebook.
–In June of 2020, the Mesa County Republican Party suggested in a post on its Facebook page that George Floyd’s death was a hoax.
–In July of 2020, the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce-linked shadowy “social welfare group” the Western Colorado Business Alliance funded a billboard thanking the racially tone-deaf members of City Council “for their service.”
–In 2021, Andrea Haitz, now school board president, kicked off her run for school board with an offensive email targeting educational initiatives that promoted equity and kindness and advanced a more thorough understanding of the background of slavery in the U.S, calling them “divisive ideologies” and “revisionist history.” Haitz was then elected to school board.
In the summer of 2022, Haitz and Angela Lema, by then both members of the School District 51 Board of Education and Haitz as its president, attended a seminar in how to fight equity and inclusion initiatives.
–In 2023, Stephen D. Daniels, the new chair of the Mesa County Board of Public Health installed by County Commissioner Janet Rowland and a strident supporter of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., refused to say if he agreed with RFK Jr.’s statements that Covid-19 was “targeted to attack caucasians and Black people” and “spare Jews and Chinese people.”
–In January, 2023, the activities of violent white supremacists and neo Nazis was documented in Grand Junction.
And that’s just part of the racism and hate has been documented in the Valley. For the sake of reader’s time, I won’t put up everything in my database about racism documented in the county since 2012.
Trump is betting that an openly racist strategy in which he denigrates immigrants and people of color will work well for him in the upcoming presidential election.
Sadly, in Mesa County, it almost certainly will — yet again.
Import the orange clown. Become the circus.
I have zero respect for anyone still supporting the racist/rapist Trump. Project 2025 will be a nightmare. However, I’d love to focus on something more positive, like how do we get a Kamala-Walz rally in CO3?
Don’t worry, Anne. Whether Mesa County votes for Trump or not… it won’t affect the presidential election since Colorado is solidly blue (at present). You certainly know this.
But kudos to you for never passing up an opportunity to misrepresent voters who you don’t like with your vacuous “proof”of racism.
Do you ever ask youself if
anyone takes you seriously any more?
The real question here is “Does anyone read the dribble coming from Badhatharry and not laugh???”
What is being misrepresented? I didn’t post the racist memes, I just told people about them, and a few of the instances of overt racism thathave been on display in the valley over the last few years. For more information about displays of hate in the Grand Valley, put “hate” in the search box on my site or go to https://annelandmanblog.com/?s=hate
Grab a cup of coffee…it returns 120 results.
Don’t be an ideological coward along with everything else, son.
LOL. Your posts only get more desperate by day, never mind the absurdity of asking such contrived question on a blog you compulsively troll. Because, of course, if you don’t like what’s posted here; you’re free not to come here, read anything, nor share those absolutely numbskull options. But DO YOU really think anyone here takes your right-wing disinfo seriously? As we need only listen to Trump’s own screeding and slurring words to know for absolute certain he is racist, sexist, ohh and let’s not forget deeply homophobic.
“Trump’s War Room?” What’s up with the bone spur battalion?
…only the Chair Force, Gravy Seals, Meal Team Six reported for duty. But they can’t seem to pull up those bootstraps.
